From left to right on my bedroom back wall I had a game table playing a nightstand, bed headboard, storage drawer, trashcan. Then the wall cornered to the master bath. This worked fine but in a fit of mad passion I moved said trashcan to between bed and game table nightstand stand-in.
I'd accidentally committed myself to a perpetual loop of inefficiency.
I discovered this after flossing. I walked from the bath past the bedfoot and disposed of my thread. Had I appreciated my situation I could have rectified it, at least minimizing the damage. If I'd picked up the trashcan and brought it back with me... but I just didn't know. It was on the bed's other side that I'd realized what I'd committed to.
I would, now and forever, be inefficient.
Sure, next time I floss I can just pick up the trashcan and bring it back. But now I've wasted energy just going around. And if I bring it back, that's even more energy burned. And what happens if I do move the trashcan back and it would have been better there for some other reason?
Or I might die before I floss again. Then I moved the can back for no good reason.
