The X and I put a lot of thought into the house. We scored a number of variables, from bedrooms and square footage to length of commute (specifically, a value penalty for every minute over 30 for hers and the same for mine, thus ensuring an appropriate work-life balance while balancing the need to cast a net wide enough to maximize value).
We also had qualitative notes. Here's what we said about the 54th entry in the "houses considering" tab:
Column O, drive-by notes: Too expensive but nice
Column Q, Tour notes (2 days later): Beautiful but likely high maintenance. Considering an offer.
It was the second house we made an offer on. Charm.
By the time I moved in Girl had started at work and I'm not saying in any way she wrecked the home, merely that she opened my eyes to the crumbling foundation.
Lots of thought, but we didn't put love in the house, or in our home. So it's time to turn it over to someone who can. Check your MLS for details.
